How to maximise a small exhibition stand

When it comes to promoting yourself at an exhibition or trade show, it’s important to remember that size isn’t everything. If you only have limited stand space, there is still so much that you can do to maximise your exhibition stand to make it stand out. With some careful planning and clever design, you can make the smallest space look amazing. Here are some things to bear in mind to help maximise your exhibition stand:

Location

Your location within the tradeshow is extremely important, especially with a smaller space. Consider the dimensions carefully and where foot traffic will be flowing. Consider your position, and whether it is a side, corner peninsular or island space to ensure you chose the best design to suit. Side stands usually only have one side open, corner spaces usually have two open sides, peninsular has three open sides and an island is open on all four sides. So consider what it is you want to display and how best to achieve this with the chosen dynamics.

Lighting

Lighting is a great way to enhance what you have to offer in a limited space. You want to make sure you are creating a light and airy space to attract visitors; and done right, lighting can make smaller things appear bigger. You can also use lighting to highlight certain features or displays within your stand and create a journey for the customer.

Minimalist

With a smaller stand, you want to ensure only key items are on display. Remove any danger of clutter as this will hinder the space. Keep things sleek and simple and only include what you need to sell your products and/or service. Consider a small exhibition counter to one side so it doesn’t create a physical barrier between you and your customers. Use exhibition stools rather than chairs for a cleaner look. And find alternative solutions to storing marketing materials to keep the overall look clean and clutter-free.

Staff

With a smaller stand, you want to consider the number of staff required. Too many people on the stand at any one time can make it feel cramped. It can also feel a bit intimidating to passers-by. Less is more, and will create a more inviting space for people to take a look at what you have to offer.

Interactivity

With limited space to showcase products, digital assets may be more appealing. Consider incorporating LED screens into your stand walls, as well as interactive touchscreens, to display product demonstrations and boost engagement with your business. The more creative you are with your stand, the more memorable it will be. Size really doesn’t matter, if the experience is just as great!
